Port Perry survives Little Britain comeback, wins 4-3

The Port Perry Mojacks survived a determined comeback attempt by the Little Britain Merchants on the way to a 4-3 win.

Port Perry made the score 4-1 on a goal by Graham Lamers at 13:32 in the third period, and Little Britain got as close as 4-3 when Terry Snoddon scored 18:35 into the third period.

The win gave the Mojacks a 1-0 lead in the best of five series.

In the losing effort, the Merchants were paced by Snoddon, who had two goals. Snoddon scored the first of his two goals at 11:11 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Port Perry. Kurtis Moore provided the assist. Snoddon's next tally made the score 4-3 Port Perry with 1:25 left in the third period. Jesse Beers assisted on the tally.

Port Perry forced Little Britain goalie Garrett Haden to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

The Mojacks were helped by Jeff St. Pierre, who racked up one goal and one assist. St. Pierre scored 3:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Perry. Ryan Nichols provided the assist. Port Perry also got points from Kyle Powell, who also had one goal and one assist. Kyle Schweda also scored for Port Perry. In addition, Port Perry received assists from Cole Murray and Owen Bateman, who each chipped in one.

The Merchants kept Port Perry's goalie busy throughout the game, and Blake Shaw made 29 saves on 32 shots.

Little Britain also got a goal from Hayden Long as well. More assists for Little Britain came via Brady Martin and Greg McLean, who contributed one each.

The Mojacks incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Garrett Haden made 35 saves for Little Britain on 39 shots. The Merchants incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
