Perth Pelicans vanquishes Perth Sharks in shootout, 4-3 (1-0 SO)

Ryan Smith scored the clinching goal in a shootout, and Perth Pelicans picked up the extra point in a 4-3 (1-0 SO) win over Perth Sharks.

The shootout lasted for eight attempts between the teams.

Perth Pelicans overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Perth Pelicans was down 2-0 after a goal by Perth Sharks' Tomek Sak at 5:42 in the second period. Perth Pelicans tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Lyndon Lodge at 1:17 in the third period.

Perth Pelicans was sparked by Smith, who grabbed one goal. Smith scored 9:51 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Alastair Lambers provided the assist.

Perth Pelicans managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time.
