The Lucan Irish had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 9-3 win over the Dorchester Dolphins. The win gave Lucan a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Irish were led by Luke Medeiros, who grabbed one goal. Medeiros scored 2:47 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lucan. Zach Beaumont picked up the assist. Lucan forced Dolphins' netminders to work all game long, taking 41 shots and forcing 32 saves. Mike Lindner made 23 stops and Kent Taylor made nine. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals. Lucan additionally got points from Jake Morin, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Mitch Morin, who also had one goal and one assist, Mitch Smith, who also registered two goals and one assist, Beaumont, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Andrew Reichert, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Lucan also had goals scored by Dylan Murray and Ryan Martin, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Lucan were Jamie Brzozowski, who had two and Connor Velikonja, Daniel Cloutier, Ian Vandenheuvel, and Andrew Purdom, who contributed one each. Dorchester's offense rang up 36 shots on the Irish's net. Lucan's Riley Collins stopped 33 shots out of the 36 that he faced. The Irish incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Lucan ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cloutier was ejected from the game. The Dolphins incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
