Dunnville downs Niagara in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Dunnville Jr. Mudcats' Luke Rowe scored 17:32 into overtime to beat the Niagara Riverhawks, 4-3 (OT).

The win gave Dunnville a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Jr. Mudcats were led by Rowe, who racked up one goal.

Dunnville's offense rang up 39 shots on Niagara's net.

Dunnville additionally got points from Josh Meeuwse, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Damien Lalonde, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Travis Sheldrake also scored for Dunnville. Other players who recorded assists for Dunnville were Jeff May and Dan Arrowsmith, who contributed one each.

The Riverhawks forced the Jr. Mudcats goalie Josh Rosettani to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots. Team could not crack Dunnville's penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having 12 opportunities to play with the man advantage.

Niagara was helped by Peter Falivena, who tallied one goal. Falivena scored on the power play 15:08 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Niagara. The Riverhawks had taken the advantage when the Jr. Mudcats' Mack Steele got sent off for roughing. Niagara also had goals scored by Franklin Franck and Dawson Ethier, who each put in one. More assists for Niagara came via Dante Zawadzki, Nick Manlow, Brandon McLean, and Jakob Reeves, who each chipped in one.

Rosettani rejected 45 shots on goal for Dunnville. The Jr. Mudcats incurred 44 minutes in penalty time with 12 minors. Team's Mark Topp and Chad Springer were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Scott Charanduk recorded 35 saves for Niagara. The Riverhawks incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
