Davies, Dundas blank Port Dover, 6-0

Dan Davies made 31 saves to complete the shutout and led the Dundas Blues to a 6-0 win against the Port Dover Sailors.

The win by Dundas clinched the best of seven series at 4-1.

The Blues were paced by Cam McConnell, who racked up one goal. McConnell scored 5:42 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Dundas. Connor King provided the assist.

Dundas excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Blues forced Port Dover goalie Mike Caluori to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

Others who scored for Dundas included Kevin Jaczenko, who had two and Jake Bain, Matt Johnson, and Alex Aquin, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Dundas were Dan Pelosini, Matt Scanlin, Zac Mihalis, and Braxton Andrews, who contributed one each and Joey Sullivan and Nick McMullen, who each chipped in two.

The Sailors' offense rang up 31 shots on Dundas' net.

The Blues incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Dundas ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Bain was ejected from the game. Caluori rejected 36 shots on goal for Port Dover. The Sailors incurred 34 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
