Nichols School rides Baerwitz to victory over Upper Canada College, 4-1

Jerry Baerwitz had a standout game with 29 saves, and the Nichols School Vikings beat the Upper Canada College Blues 4-1.

Nichols School was led by Carson Gicewicz, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Gicewicz scored 1:03 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Nichols School. Griffin Lunn provided the assist.

The Vikings managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Nichols School ended up below its season average of 11.0 penalty minutes per game. The Vikings' offense rang up 48 shots on Upper Canada College's net.

Nichols School also got points from Harrison Oates, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Nichols School also had goals scored by Ross Cominsky and Dylan Seitz, who each put in one. More assists for Nichols School came via Sean Martin and Anthony Scanzuso, who each chipped in one.

The Blues managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Upper Canada College wound up below its season average of 10.0 penalty minutes per game.

Nichols School registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. The Blues' Jack Pendrith stopped 44 shots out of the 48 that he faced. Upper Canada College registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
