Kincardine falls to Walkerton in overtime, 3-2 (OT)Davidson Sun, Jan 25, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Walkerton Hawks' Jay Thomson scored 14:38 into overtime to beat the Kincardine Bulldogs, 3-2 (OT). Walkerton's penalty kill excelled, as the Hawks gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. Walkerton was led by Reid Simmons, who had one goal. Simmons scored 3:03 into overtime to make the score 4-2 Walkerton. Kincardine was unable to stop the Hawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Walkerton eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. The Hawks could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game. Walkerton also had goals scored by Ryan Hamelin and Brett Coulson, who each put in one. In addition, Walkerton received assists from Nathan Kramer, Alex Perrault, Calvin Penney, and Brendan Welsh, who contributed one each. The Bulldogs were helped by Sam Feagan, who registered one goal. Feagan scored short handed 12:37 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Kincardine found itself down a man on Gerrit Satosek's slashing. Shawn Moore picked up the assist. Kincardine also got a goal from Dalton Hnatko as well. Other players who recorded assists for Kincardine were Luke Inglis and Patrick Wiejak, who each chipped in one. Erik Angeli recorded 27 saves for Walkerton. The Hawks registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. The Bulldogs' Mitch Campbell stopped 29 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Kincardine incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
