Cape Cod rips East Coast, 6-0

Cape Cod had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-0 win over East Coast.

East Coast's power play was ineffective against Cape Cod's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Cape Cod was led by Tim OShea, who registered one goal. OShea scored 11:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cape Cod. James Brosnan picked up the assist.

Cape Cod stifled East Coast's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Cape Cod's defense was surprisingly good. Cape Cod allows 3.0 goals per game. Cape Cod kept East Coast's goalie busy throughout the game, and Aidan Critchlow made 63 saves on 69 shots. Cape Cod bested its season scoring average. This season, Cape Cod averages 3.1 goals per contest. Cape Cod could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game.

Cape Cod additionally got points from Brosnan, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Colton Hutton, who also had one goal and one assist, and Charles Antoine Malenfant, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Cape Cod also had goals scored by Chris Harris and Andrey Stankevich, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Cape Cod were Jordy Knoren, who had two and Eric Szeker, Jean Sebastien Dufort, and Casey Zawojski, who contributed one each.

East Coast excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. East Coast's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as East Coast finished with 18 penalty minutes.
