Campbellford blows out Deseronto, 8-2

The Deseronto Storm had trouble finding ways to stop the Campbellford Rebels, which beat Storm, 8-2.

Jon Samis was all over the ice for Campbellford, as he tallied one goal and three assists in the win. Samis scored 17:50 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Campbellford. Andrew Doxtator assisted on the tally.

The Rebels forced Deseronto goalie Aaron Young to work between the pipes, taking 57 shots. Campbellford found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Rebels average 3.9 goals per contest.

Campbellford additionally got points from Ethan McDougall, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Colin Doyle, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Grant Fry, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Jeremiah Doherty, who also racked up two goals and one assist. Campbellford also got a goal from Gerald Bilker as well. Other players who recorded assists for Campbellford were Travis Bennett, Jacob Bennett, and Corey Lasko, who each chipped in one.

Cole Mahoney recorded 20 saves for Campbellford. The Rebels incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Young rejected 49 shots on goal for the Storm. Deseronto incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Storm ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brett Maracle was ejected from the game.
