Butte Cobras survives San Diego comeback, wins 4-3

Butte Cobras came close to giving away a four-goal lead to San Diego, but did just enough to escape with a 4-3 victory.

Butte Cobras led by four goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Butte Cobras' Kevin Philbin scored at 8:08 in the second period to put Butte Cobras up 4-0.

Butte Cobras was helped by Morgan Reiner, who tallied one goal. Reiner scored 23:22 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Butte Cobras. Philbin assisted on the tally. Butte Cobras also got points from Zach Steuck, who also registered one goal and one assist and Philbin, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Butte Cobras also got a goal from James Kilgore as well. In addition, Butte Cobras received assists from Clinton Hildebrand, who had one and PJ Silveria and Anton Zimmer, who each chipped in two.

San Diego was led by Ustin Molochkov, who had one goal and one assist. Molochkov scored 13:42 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Butte Cobras. Alec Barre picked up the assist. Others who scored for San Diego included Will Parker and Michael Wiggins, who scored one goal each. More assists for San Diego came via Keegan Evangelista, Sebastian Gruhler, Ilya Sakhibgareev, and Kacey Walker, who contributed one each.

Butte Cobras' Reed Kinsey stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Butte Cobras incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Jokaim Jutras made 23 saves for San Diego on 27 shots. San Diego incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
