Springfield Express hangs on, beats Colorado RoughRiders 3-2

Springfield Express took the lead against Colorado RoughRiders in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 3-2 victory.

Springfield Express took over the lead for good with a goal by Vito DeVito at 20:46 in the first period. Springfield Express had gained a power play chance when Cody Letsinger was whistled for roughing. Eric Andersson assisted on the tally.

DeVito had two goals to lead Springfield Express to victory.

Springfield Express' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Colorado RoughRiders power plays.

Linus Dahlberg also scored for Springfield Express. More assists for Springfield Express came via David Higgs, who had two and Diego Bartlett and Seth Ensor, who each chipped in one.

Colorado RoughRiders was helped by Thayne Trumbull, who grabbed one goal. Trumbull scored 24:44 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Springfield Express. Tanner West picked up the assist. Colorado RoughRiders also got a goal from Walker Harris as well. Other players who recorded assists for Colorado RoughRiders were Nick Kukuris, Devon Pilkington, and Aidan Doughty, who contributed one each.

Philip Babb rejected 18 shots on goal for Springfield Express. Springfield Express incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Kirill Pustovalov recorded 18 saves for Colorado RoughRiders. Colorado RoughRiders incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
