Wichita Jr. Thunder also got a goal from Ivan Brvenik as well. More assists for Wichita Jr. Thunder came via John Pierce, Brock Steffen, Patrik Janac, Jack McClelland, and Peter Cicmanec, who each chipped in one.

San Diego was held below its usual level of production. San Diego puts an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game. San Diego struggled on the penalty kill, allowing Wichita Jr. Thunder to score two power play goals on three chances.

San Diego was led by Cameron Todd, who scored the team's only goal. Todd scored 21:39 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Tyler Kubara assisted on the tally.
