Ontario Avalanche hangs on, beats Colorado RoughRiders 5-3

Ontario Avalanche took the lead against Colorado RoughRiders in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 5-3 victory.

Marc Janisch provided Ontario Avalanche with the game-winning tally when he scored 5:22 into the first period. Andrew Guzman picked up the assist.

Ontario Avalanche got the win behind a great game by Michael Thomas, who had two goals and one assist. Thomas scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 18:17 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Ontario Avalanche. An interference penalty on Nick Kukuris had put Ontario Avalanche on the power play. Adam Plonski provided the assist. Thomas' next tally on the power play made the score 3-1 Ontario Avalanche with -72 seconds left in the first period.

Ontario Avalanche was effective with a man advantage, and put in two goals while on the power play.

Ontario Avalanche additionally got points from Plonski, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Thurel Kast also scored for Ontario Avalanche. In addition, Ontario Avalanche received assists from Jackson Giammona, Paul Ramsey, and Coleton Dawson, who contributed one each.

Colorado RoughRiders was helped by Thayne Trumbull, who registered one goal. Trumbull scored 21:35 into the first period to make the score 3-2 Ontario Avalanche. Martin Bakula assisted on the tally. Others who scored for Colorado RoughRiders included Nate Werhane and Aidan Doughty, who each put in one. More assists for Colorado RoughRiders came via Christian Akita, Walker Harris, and Gian Cervo, who each chipped in one.
