Dundas completes comeback, beats Niagara, 4-3

The Dundas Blues climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat the Niagara Riverhawks, 4-3.

Dundas never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Blues was down 3-1 after a goal by Niagara's Peter Falivena at 11:18 in the third period. Dundas knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Ray Thompson at 14:12 in the third period. The Blues netted the game winner on the power play at 16:02 in the third period on a goal by Thompson.

Braxton Andrews had a great game for Dundas, netting two goals. Andrews found the back of the net on the power play 11:22 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and again while on the power play 13:19 into the third to make the score 3-2 Niagara.

The Blues excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Dundas forced the Riverhawks goalie Sebastian Iannone to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. The Blues' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Kevin Jaczenko also scored for Dundas. More assists for Dundas came via Nick McMullen, Matt Johnson, Connor King, and Zac Mihalis, who contributed one each and Joey Sullivan and Jake Bain, who each chipped in two.

Dundas was unable to stop Niagara from sending pucks towards the net, and the Riverhawks eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Niagara's penalty kill was ineffective, and let in three goals to the Blues' power play unit.

Others who scored for Niagara included Nick Manlow and Alex Cipriano, who scored one goal each. In addition, Niagara received assists from Kyle Robertson, Dylan Leifso, Patrick Norris, and Zack Mulvale, who contributed one each.

Dundas' Brock Novak stopped 32 shots out of the 35 that he faced. The Blues incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Iannone recorded 35 saves for the Riverhawks. Niagara incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
