Perth Sharks beats Perth Pelicans 5-3 after comeback scare

Perth Pelicans tried its best to erase a three-goal deficit, but Perth Sharks would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-3.

A goal by Bradley Campbell put Perth Sharks up 5-2 in the third period, but Perth Pelicans pulled to within two on David Mahood's tally 14:52 into the third period.

With three goals and one assist between them, Benedik Stolze and Alastair Punler teamed up to power Perth Sharks' offense. Stolze grabbed two goals and one assist and Punler also added one goal.

Perth Sharks managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Perth Sharks ended up below its season average of 13.0 penalty minutes per game. Perth Sharks' offense was clicking better than usual and put 17 shots on goal during the game, better than the 3.7 shots per game it averages. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

James Woodman also scored for Perth Sharks. More assists for Perth Sharks came via Bruno Stolze, who had one and Tomek Sak, who had two.
