St. Andrews College blows out Shawnigan Lake School, 6-0

The St. Andrews College Saints were firing on all cylinders against Shawnigan Lake School, and when the final buzzer sounded Saints emerged with a 6-0 win.

Justin Fregona had two goals and one assist to lead St. Andrews College. Fregona scored the first of his two goals at 10:55 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Andrews College. Darren Iwai assisted on the tally. Fregona's next tally made the score 6-0 St. Andrews College with 28 seconds left in the third period.

The Saints kept Shawnigan Lake School's goalie busy throughout the game, and Merek Pipes made 54 saves on 60 shots.

St. Andrews College also got points from Iwai, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for St. Andrews College included Matthew Thom, Jacob Miller, and Kyle Hunter, who scored one goal each. In addition, St. Andrews College received assists from Calvin Walker, who had two and Jacob Ledson, Otto Saarimaa, Adam Sinclair, Alex MacDonald, and Mitchell Martan, who contributed one each.

Shawnigan Lake School did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 10 shots on net to force 10 saves. Shawnigan Lake School did not rack up many penalties in the contest, totaling a minimal one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Matthew Galajda recorded 10 saves for St. Andrews College. The Saints incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Shawnigan Lake School registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
