St. Andrews College beats Bishops College School 6-1 as Iwai gets hat trick

Darren Iwai lifted the St. Andrews College Saints to a 6-1 victory with a hat trick against Bishops College School.

Iwai's first goal came 11:12 into the first period. He then added goals at 16:00 into the first and at 5:00 into the third.

St. Andrews College excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Saints kept Bishops College School's goalie busy throughout the game, and Cole Quinlin made 39 saves on 45 shots.

St. Andrews College also got points from Griffin James, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for St. Andrews College included JD Falconer and Jacob Miller, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for St. Andrews College were Calvin Walker, Otto Saarimaa, Reid Yochim, Mac Lewis, and Mitchell Martan, who contributed one each and Justin Fregona and Austin Cho, who each chipped in two.

Bishops College School found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere 12 shots against St. Andrews College's defense. Bishops College School struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 16 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays.

Bishops College School was led by Tyler Beauparlant, who scored the team's only goal. Beauparlant scored 14:57 into the first period to make the score 1-1.

The Saints' Cole Chapman stopped 11 shots out of the 12 that he faced. St. Andrews College incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
