Jersey Shore outlasts Cape Cod, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, Jersey Shore escaped with a 4-2 victory over Cape Cod.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Austin Crane's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Jersey Shore was paced by Crane, who finished with one goal. Crane scored 5:23 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Jersey Shore.

Jersey Shore's offense rang up 34 shots on Cape Cod's net.

Others who scored for Jersey Shore included Ilya Spektor, JaColbie McGowan, and Drew Brown, who each put in one. In addition, Jersey Shore received assists from Jiri Hajda, who had two and Antoine Gagne, Konstantin Mamedov, and Michal Sivek, who contributed one each.

Cape Cod was helped by Christian Holmes, who had one goal. Holmes scored 17:52 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Frank Oakley picked up the assist. James Brosnan also scored for Cape Cod. More assists for Cape Cod came via Anthony Giannelli, Jean Sebastien Dufort, and Colton Hart, who each chipped in one.

Tyger Howat made 23 saves for Jersey Shore on 25 shots. Jersey Shore incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Cape Cod's Patrick Spaulding stopped 30 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Cape Cod incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Cape Cod ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Holmes was ejected from the game.
