Dortenzio, Hagersville blank Port Dover, 7-0

Curtis Dortenzio was superb between the pipes for the Hagersville Hawks, as he did not allow a goal in a 7-0 victory over the Port Dover Sailors.

Hagersville forced Sailors' netminders to work without much rest, ripping 48 shots and forcing 41 saves. Horia Lucaciu made 25 stops and Justin McSpadden made 16. The Hawks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. Hagersville outdid its season average for goals scored. The Hawks average 3.6 goals per game. Hagersville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Hawks were helped by Derek Friesen, who registered two goals and one assist. Friesen scored the first of his two goals at 4:04 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hagersville. Dan Mederios provided the assist. Friesen's next tally made the score 5-0 Hagersville with 7:31 left in the second period. Mederios assisted on the tally. Hagersville also got points from Bailey Fletcher, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Cole Martin, who also had one goal and one assist, Mederios, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Matt Rimac, who also registered one goal and one assist. Mitch Green also scored for Hagersville. More assists for Hagersville came via Travis Bell, Kyle Phibbs, Brayden Hill, Derek Low, and Jacob Solomon, who contributed one each.

Port Dover did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Sailors average 2.8 goals per game.

Hagersville's Dortenzio stopped 27 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Hawks registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. Port Dover incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
