Baron scored the first of his two goals at 3:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 West Chester University. Lindsay Howard provided the assist. Baron's next tally made the score 5-0 West Chester University with 4:28 left in the first period. Colleen Tweedy picked up the assist. Montclair State University was unable to stop West Chester University from sending pucks towards the net, and West Chester University eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. West Chester University did not rack up many penalties in the contest, tallying a minimal one minor for two minutes in penalty time. West Chester University took advantage of Montclair State University's penalties, tallying three goals off of five power play opportunities. West Chester University's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Montclair State University did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting three shots on net to force three saves.
