Roc City Royals survived a determined comeback attempt by Syracuse Stampede on the way to a 5-3 win. A goal by Mason Versage put Roc City Royals up 5-2 in the second period, but Syracuse Stampede pulled to within two on Travis Hyde's tally 5:48 into the third period. Roc City Royals got the win thanks to a great game by Wesley Austin, who had two goals and one assist. Austin scored the first of his two goals at 10:01 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Roc City Royals. James Lockamyeir picked up the assist. Austin's next tally made the score 3-0 Roc City Royals with 1:16 left in the first period. Roc City Royals' offense rang up 33 shots on Syracuse Stampede's net. Roc City Royals could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 36 minutes in penalties during the game. Others who scored for Roc City Royals included Bryan Smith and Matthew Corey, who scored one goal each. In addition, Roc City Royals received assists from John Wise, who had two and Connor Guay and Anthony DePetres, who contributed one each. Syracuse Stampede stifled Roc City Royals' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Syracuse Stampede struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 30 penalty minutes for six opposing power plays. Syracuse Stampede was led by Xavier Perron, who racked up two goals and one assist. Perron scored the first of his two goals at 6:31 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Roc City Royals. Perron's next tally made the score 4-2 Roc City Royals with 5:34 left in the second period. A slashing penalty on Wise had put Syracuse Stampede on the power play. Travis Bobb provided the assist.
