The Colorado State University Rams and the Liberty University Flames skate to 3-3 (OT) tie

Colorado State University found itself down againt Liberty University, but battled back to secure to a 3-3 (OT) tie.

The Rams kept the Flames' goalie busy throughout the game, and Kristina Toppazzini made 33 saves on 36 shots.

Colorado State University was helped by Avery Kauffmann, who registered one goal. Kauffmann scored short handed 4:17 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Liberty University. A tripping call on Kailey Schiesl put the Rams on the penalty kill. Colorado State University also got points from Molly Oneil, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Colorado State University came via Sierra Dell and Hannah Samlowski, who each chipped in one.

Liberty University forced Colorado State University's goalies to work in net, finishing with 56 shots and forcing 53 saves. Mackenzie Roberts made 48 stops and Meghan Nelson made five. The Flames were held below their usual level of production. Liberty University averages 6.7 goals per game. The Flames' normally stingy defense allowed more goals than usual. Liberty University gives up 0.9 goals per game. The Flames could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game.

Liberty University was helped by Courtney Gilmour, who grabbed one goal. Gilmour scored 3:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Liberty University. Carrie Jickling picked up the assist. Liberty University also had goals scored by Sarah Stevenson and Brittany Hymers, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Liberty University were Marissa Graham, Autumn Kucharczyk, and Clarissa Tipping, who contributed one each.

The Rams incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Flames registered two goals on six power play opportunities.
