Perth Pelicans erases deficit to stun Melbourne Glaciers, 3-2

Perth Pelicans rallied from two goals down to secure a 3-2 win over Melbourne Glaciers.

Perth Pelicans never led in the game until netting the game winner. Perth Pelicans trailed 2-0 after a goal by Melbourne Glaciers' Sam Hodic at 11:48 in the first period. Perth Pelicans knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Kieren Webster at 6:43 in the third period. Perth Pelicans netted the game winner at 10:28 in the third period on a goal by Webster.

Webster had two goals to lead Perth Pelicans to victory.

Perth Pelicans excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Perth Pelicans' offense was clicking better than usual and put 22 shots on goal during the game, better than the 2.8 shots per game it averages.

Lyndon Lodge also scored for Perth Pelicans. Other players who recorded assists for Perth Pelicans were Jonathon Spalding and Rhys Dumpleton, who each chipped in one.

Melbourne Glaciers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Perth Pelicans power plays. With 17 shots on target during the contest, Melbourne Glaciers exceeded the 3.5 shots it averages per game this year.

Melbourne Glaciers also got a goal from Lenny Lee as well. More assists for Melbourne Glaciers came via Gavin Birchler and David Sowa, who contributed one each.

Perth Pelicans' Stephen McCann stopped 15 shots out of the 17 that he faced. Perth Pelicans incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Fraser Ohlson made 19 saves for Melbourne Glaciers on 22 shots. Melbourne Glaciers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
