Sydney Wolf Pack uses shootout to best Sydney Sabres, 3-2 (1-0 SO)

Scott Clemie scored the clinching goal in a shootout, and Sydney Wolf Pack picked up the extra point in a 3-2 (1-0 SO) win over Sydney Sabres.

The shootout featured 22 attempts between both teams.

Sydney Wolf Pack overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Sydney Wolf Pack fell behind 2-0 after a power play goal by Sydney Sabres' Casey Kubara at 6:00 in the second period. Sydney Wolf Pack tied things up at 2-2 on a power play goal by Clemie at 10:55 in the third period.

Clemie had two goals to lead Sydney Wolf Pack to victory.

Sydney Wolf Pack struggled to put together a cohesive attack and finished with a mere 12 shots over the course of the game. However, Sydney Wolf Pack ripped more shots in the game than the 3.5 per game it averages.

Sydney Wolf Pack was led by Clemie, who finished with two goals. Clemie scored the first of his two goals at 9:57 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Sydney Sabres. Patrick Nadin picked up the assist. Clemie's next tally made the score 2-2 with 9:05 left in the third period. Sydney Wolf Pack earned a power play opportunity when Samuel Lammert was put in the box for slashing. Jarrod Smith assisted on the tally.

Sydney Sabres put 30 shots on net during the contest, more than the 2.0 it averages per game.

Sydney Sabres also got a goal from Luke Shafren as well. In addition, Sydney Sabres received assists from Luke Zvonicek, Bryan Costa, and Chris Shephard, who each chipped in one.

Jake Burgess recorded 28 saves for Sydney Wolf Pack. Sydney Wolf Pack incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Tyrone Mendoza-Kehlet made nine saves for Sydney Sabres on 11 shots. Sydney Sabres incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
