New England Stars uses early goal to top Cape Cod Islanders, 4-2

New England Stars took the lead against Cape Cod Islanders in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 4-2 victory.

A goal 9:40 into the first period by Brian Glover proved to be the game winner, and powered New England Stars to the victory. A boarding penalty on Charles Antoine Malenfant had put New England Stars on the power play.

New England Stars was led by Ian McNamara, who registered one goal. McNamara scored 2:31 into the second period to make the score 3-1 New England Stars. Jake Latham provided the assist.

New England Stars' offense rang up 39 shots on Cape Cod Islanders' net. New England Stars was ineffective while on the power play, as it was held to two goals off of nine man advantages. The defensemen of New England Stars were also effective in Cape Cod Islanders' zone, and came away with two goals.
