New England uses shootout to best New Hampshire, 3-2 (2-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as New England defeated New Hampshire in a shootout 3-2 (2-0 SO).

The shootout featured nine attempts between both teams. In addition to the clincher, New England got a shootout goal from Rick Marvin.

New England overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. New England was down 2-1 after a goal by New Hampshire's Nick Pino at 9:57 in the second period. New England tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Henrik Nilsson at 2:15 in the third period.

New England managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. New England ended up below its season average of 15.0 penalty minutes per game.

New England additionally got points from Jake Latham, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, New England received assists from Cam Webster, who had two.

New Hampshire could not produce up to its normal offensive output. New Hampshire averages 4.2 goals per game.

New Hampshire was helped by Chris Babineau, who racked up one goal. Babineau scored 13:24 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Frederic Pugin picked up the assist. Other players who recorded assists for New Hampshire were Tyler Burton, Grant Lundquist, and Andrew Gass, who each chipped in one.
