Behind a great game by Daniel Leisser, who had two goals and six assists, Wilkes-Barre defeated Syracuse, 13-2.

Leisser scored at 14:27 into the second period to make the score 6-1 Wilkes-Barre and again while 17:49 into the third to make the score 12-2 Wilkes-Barre.

Wilkes-Barre forced Syracuse's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, firing 74 shots and forcing 61 saves. Ryan Scheide made 28 stops and Ludvig Kullen Dansarie made 33. Wilkes-Barre managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Wilkes-Barre wound up below its season average of 18.0 penalty minutes per game. Wilkes-Barre found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Wilkes-Barre has scored at the pace of 4.7 goals per game during the current campaign.

Wilkes-Barre additionally got points from Guillaume St. Germain, who also grabbed two goals and three assists, Michael Tugo, who also racked up three goals and two assists, Zoltan Eross, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Derek Bureau, who also registered three goals and one assist. Others who scored for Wilkes-Barre included Arturs Bush and Krystof Rykala, who each put in one. In addition, Wilkes-Barre received assists from Hunter Hackling, who had one and Nicholas Vitanovec, Jonathan Wisten, and Kenny Myers, who each chipped in two.

Syracuse stifled Wilkes-Barre's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Wilkes-Barre's Kevin Quinlin stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Wilkes-Barre registered zero goals on three power play opportunities. Syracuse incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors and had no power play opportunities.
