Maine rides Osborne to victory over Cape Cod, 2-1

Lucas Osborne stood on his head and made 36 saves to lead Maine to a 2-1 victory over Cape Cod.

Maine was led by Ryder Parkhurst, who tallied one goal. Parkhurst scored on the power play 1:23 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Maine. Matt Henderson assisted on the tally.

Maine forced Cape Cod goalie Patrick Spaulding to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Maine found itself short handed often, totaling 34 penalty minutes and allowing two power plays.

Taylor Zion also scored for Maine. In addition, Maine received assists from Chris King and Alex Benson, who each chipped in one.

Cape Cod racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with eight minors and one major for 41 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 17.0 minutes per game Cape Cod had been spending in the box. Maine was unable to stop Cape Cod from sending pucks towards the net, and Cape Cod eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Cape Cod was led by Christian Holmes, who scored the team's only goal. Holmes scored 8:39 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Cape Cod. Ilya Koposov provided the assist.

Maine registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. Patrick Spaulding made 38 saves for Cape Cod on 40 shots.
