Gasiewicz's big game bests Syracuse in 6-1 Lockport win

Behind a great game by Christopher Gasiewicz, who had two goals and two assists, Lockport defeated Syracuse, 6-1.

Gasiewicz's tallies came at 6:54 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Lockport and 6:45 into the third to make the score 5-1 Lockport.

Lockport excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Syracuse was unable to stop Lockport from sending pucks towards the net, and Lockport eventually piled up 56 shots on goal.

Lockport also got points from Jordan Pocobello, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Justin Blake, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Nicholas Siracuse, who also had two goals and one assist. More assists for Lockport came via Jacob Burford, Justin Durkee, and Gibson Stuart, who contributed one each and Daniel Golba and Anthony Merante, who each chipped in two.

Syracuse's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Lockport power plays. Syracuse's offense operated below its season average. Syracuse puts an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game.

Syracuse was led by Braeden Pearl, who scored the team's only goal. Pearl scored 16:26 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Lockport. Travis Hyde provided the assist.

Ryan Kostelnik made 19 saves for Lockport on 20 shots. Lockport incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Ludvig Kullen Dansarie rejected 50 shots on goal for Syracuse. Syracuse incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
