Roc City pulls away in second, rolls over East Coast, 8-1

East Coast was within striking distance after one period, but Roc City put the pedal down in the second en route to an 8-1 victory.

Roc City got the win thanks to a great game by John Papas, who had two goals and two assists. Papas scored the first of his two goals at 30 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 Roc City. Wesley Austin assisted on the tally. Papas' next tally made the score 7-1 Roc City with 12:58 left in the third period. Roc City found itself down a man on Bryan Smith's hooking. Zach Bucholz picked up the assist.

Roc City forced East Coast's goalies to work between the pipes, totaling 46 shots and forcing 38 saves. Travis Spangle made 25 stops and Aidan Critchlow made eight. Roc City surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, Roc City averages 3.7 goals per contest.

Roc City also got points from Austin, who also registered one goal and two assists, Connor Guay, who also had one goal and two assists, and Sam Cammilleri, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. James Lockamyeir also scored for Roc City.

East Coast was led by Maxwell Campbell, who scored the team's only goal. Campbell scored on the power play 7:32 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Roc City. East Coast had gotten the advantage when Roc City's Alex Walczyk was sent off for tripping. Samu Landen provided the assist.

Roc City's George Collins stopped 23 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Roc City incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. East Coast incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
