Salem Icenter    Sun, Feb 01, 2015

Spence Cowand racked up one point to lead Maine to a 6-1 victory over East Coast.

East Coast was unable to stop Maine from sending pucks towards the net, and Maine eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. Maine's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, Maine averages 3.2 goals per contest.

Maine additionally got points from Ignat Molchanov, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Maine were Drew Lupardo and Jon Fields, who contributed one each and Noel Fischer, Nick Deveau, and Drew Sommerhof, who each chipped in two.

East Coast forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up eight minors and one major for 41 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 20.0 minutes per game East Coast had been spending in the box.

East Coast was led by Shane Morgan, who scored the team's only goal. Morgan scored on the power play 11:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 East Coast. A tripping penalty on Mick Mansir had put East Coast on the power play.
