Cape Cod falls to New England in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

New England pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over Cape Cod on a clutch goal by Henrik Nilsson.

New England was paced by Nilsson, who tallied one goal. Nilsson scored 4:01 into overtime to make the score 3-2 New England. Andre Nybo assisted on the tally.

New England kept Cape Cod's goalie busy throughout the game, and Patrick Spaulding made 35 saves on 38 shots.

New England additionally got points from Nybo, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Justin Carchia also scored for New England. Other players who recorded assists for New England were Kyle Weiss, Rick Marvin, and Cam Webster, who contributed one each.

Cape Cod avoided man-down situations well, registering one major for five minutes in penalty time. Cape Cod ended up below its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. Cape Cod forced New England goalie Dane Pauls to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Cape Cod was helped by Isaac Bosse, who grabbed one goal. Bosse scored 11:55 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Chris Harris picked up the assist. Cape Cod also got a goal from Charles Antoine Malenfant as well. More assists for Cape Cod came via Jordy Knoren, who had one.

Pauls recorded 33 saves for New England. New England totaled seven minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and had no power play opportunities. Cape Cod registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
