Wilkes-Barre tried its best to erase a three-goal deficit, but Jersey Shore would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3. Jersey Shore took a 4-1 lead during the third period, only to have Wilkes-Barre storm back on a Derek Bureau goal 18:47 into the third period to pull to one goal down. Wilkes-Barre's power play was ineffective against Jersey Shore's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. Jersey Shore forced Wilkes-Barre's netminders to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots and forcing 31 saves. Nolan Bivolcic made 20 stops and Kevin Quinlin made 11. Jersey Shore was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 20 penalty minutes. The defensemen of Jersey Shore were also effective in Wilkes-Barre's zone, and came away with two goals. Jersey Shore was helped by Travis Valvo, who registered one goal. Valvo scored 18:20 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Jersey Shore. Frederic Ampleman provided the assist. Jersey Shore also got a goal from Tim OConnor as well.
