Syracuse uses shootout to best Roc City, 3-2 (2-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Syracuse defeated Roc City in a shootout 3-2 (2-0 SO).

The two teams needed four turns to complete the shootout. Syracuse also got a shootout goal from Jean-Philippe Picard.

Syracuse's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Roc City power plays. Syracuse kept Roc City's goalie busy throughout the game, and George Collins made 48 saves on 51 shots.

Syracuse was led by Xavier Perron, who registered one goal and one assist. Perron scored 10:17 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Syracuse. Picard provided the assist. Syracuse also got a goal from Charles Blais Dionne as well. In addition, Syracuse received assists from Braeden Pearl, who had one.

Roc City excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Syracuse was unable to stop Roc City from sending pucks towards the net, and Roc City eventually piled up 47 shots on goal.

Roc City was helped by John Wise, who had one goal. Wise scored 12:24 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Sam Cammilleri picked up the assist. Dominic Gruttadauria also scored for Roc City. Other players who recorded assists for Roc City were Reece Tucker and Benjamin Myles, who contributed one each.

Syracuse's Ludvig Kullen Dansarie stopped 45 shots out of the 47 that he faced. Syracuse incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Roc City incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
