Sharkus stymies New England, Wilkes-Barre wins 4-1

Andrew Sharkus stood on his head and made 29 saves to lead Wilkes-Barre to a 4-1 victory over New England.

Wilkes-Barre pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes.

Wilkes-Barre was sparked by Brett Welsh, who tallied one goal and one assist. Welsh scored 16:07 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Wilkes-Barre.

Wilkes-Barre excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances.

Others who scored for Wilkes-Barre included Arturs Bush, Guillaume St. Germain, and Daniel Leisser, who scored one goal each. In addition, Wilkes-Barre received assists from Brendon Walch and Mordy Munichman, who contributed one each.

New England's offense operated below its season average. New England puts an average of 4.3 pucks into the net per game. New England could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.
