Cape Cod survived a determined comeback attempt by Syracuse on the way to a 4-3 win. Cape Cod took a 3-0 lead during the second period, only to have Syracuse storm back on a Joey Dupuis goal 10:50 into the third period to pull to one goal down. Cape Cod was paced by Frank Oakley, who tallied one goal. Oakley scored 12:05 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Cape Cod. Cape Cod forced Syracuse goalie Hunter Andersen to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Cape Cod also got points from Charles Antoine Malenfant, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Cape Cod included Vasiliy Mironov and Isaac Bosse, who each put in one. More assists for Cape Cod came via Chris Harris, who had two and Jordy Knoren, Tim OShea, and Colton Hart, who each chipped in one. Syracuse managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Syracuse ended up below its season average of 13.0 penalty minutes per game. Syracuse kept Cape Cod's goalie busy throughout the game, and Patrick Spaulding made 33 saves on 36 shots. Syracuse also got a goal from Charles Blais Dionne as well. In addition, Syracuse received assists from Braeden Pearl, who had one and Xavier Perron, who had three. Cape Cod incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities. Andersen recorded 36 saves for Syracuse. Syracuse registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
