Casey nets hat trick, leads New Hampshire to 16-0 win over East Coast

East Coast could not stop New Hampshire's Tim Casey, who tallied a hat trick in a 16-0 win.

Casey notched his first tally 8:21 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:32 into the third and at 11:01 into the third.

New Hampshire gained an early advantage, leading 4-0 by the end of the first period.

New Hampshire excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. New Hampshire kept East Coast's goalie busy throughout the game, and Aidan Critchlow made 38 saves on 54 shots. New Hampshire found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. New Hampshire averages 4.8 goals per game. New Hampshire got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed four goals during the game.

New Hampshire also got points from Simon Campbell, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Travis Blinkhorn, who also had one goal and four assists to lead the team in points, David Fish, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Brett Bittner, who also registered two goals and two assists. Alex Peddle also scored for New Hampshire. In addition, New Hampshire received assists from Chris Babineau, who had two, Ryan Dunfield, who had four, Josh Crane and Grant Lundquist, who each chipped in one, and Mike Heffernan and Mike Callaghan, who contributed three each.

East Coast's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled nine minors and one major for 23 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 15.0 minutes per game East Coast had been spending in the box. East Coast did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 11 shots on net to force 11 saves.

Adam Higdon rejected 11 shots on goal for New Hampshire. New Hampshire totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 3-for-8 on the power play.
