Jersey Shore wins tough contest against Roc City, 5-3Lakeshore Arena Sat, Nov 22, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between Jersey Shore and Roc City was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Jersey Shore emerged with a 5-3 win. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Travis Valvo at 2:35 of the second period. Austin Crane was all over the ice for Jersey Shore, as he had two goals in the win. Crane scored at 11:56 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while on the power play 5:01 into the third to make the score 4-2 Jersey Shore. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 15:22 into the second period. Eighteen fighting penalties were dished out along with seven game misconducts. Roc City racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with four minors and six majors for 128 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 30.0 minutes per game Roc City had been spending in the box. Roc City forced Jersey Shore's netminders to work between the pipes, racking up 32 shots and forcing 29 saves. Tyger Howat made 11 stops and Marc Schlaeger made 18. Roc City had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on 10 chances. Roc City was led by Anthony DePetres, who racked up three goals. In addition, Roc City received assists from Brian Wade and Benjamin Myles, who each chipped in one. Jersey Shore registered one goal on three power play opportunities. For Jersey Shore, Schlaeger, Jiri Hajda, Alexander Tan, Kevin Gruber, and Adam Skutchan were ejected from the contest. Team's Wade, Dominic Gruttadauria, Mason Versage, and Zach Buchholz were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
