Latham's big game bests Cape Cod in 7-2 New England win

Jake Latham was all over the ice for New England, as he tallied one goal and three assists in New England's 7-2 win over Cape Cod.

Latham scored 7:44 into the second period to make the score 3-1 New England. Steve Upton assisted on the tally. Latham dished an assist on Brian Glover's goal that made the score 1-0 New England at 3:37 into the first period. He then added assists on Upton's goal at 19:58 into the first and on Andre Nybo's goal at 18:02 into the second.

New England's penalty kill excelled, as New England gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

New England stifled Cape Cod's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. New England's offense rang up 49 shots on Cape Cod's net. New England's goal total was higher than its season average. New England averages 4.8 goals per game. New England's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

New England additionally got points from Glover, who also registered one goal and one assist, Upton, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Ian McNamara, who also had one goal and two assists, and Nybo, who also racked up one goal and two assists. New England also had goals scored by Colton Hutton and Justin Carchia, who scored one goal each. In addition, New England received assists from Kyle Weiss, Steve Crocker, Ryan Gauvin, and Taylor Farrow, who each chipped in one.
