Jersey Shore Wildcats uses shootout to best Cape Cod Islanders, 2-1 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Jersey Shore Wildcats defeated Cape Cod Islanders in a shootout 2-1 (2-1 SO).

The shootout featured 10 attempts between both teams. Cape Cod Islanders got a shootout goal from Charles Antoine Malenfant. In addition to the clincher, Jersey Shore Wildcats got a shootout goal from Austin Crane.

Cape Cod Islanders was stymied by Jersey Shore Wildcats' netminder Tyger Howat, who stopped 37 shots during the victory. Howat managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.79 prior to the game.
