Wilkes-Barre Miners survives penalties, beats Lockport Express, 7-4

Wilkes-Barre Miners, which found itself down a man often, weathered Lockport Express' power play opportunities and emerged with a 7-4 victory.

Wilkes-Barre Miners was led by Kenny Myers, who finished with one goal and one assist. Myers scored 11:46 into the second period to make the score 5-2 Wilkes-Barre Miners.

In the losing effort, Lockport Express was sparked by Frank II Vecchio, who grabbed two goals. Vecchio scored the first of his two goals at 6:12 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Wilkes-Barre Miners. Vecchio's next tally made the score 4-2 Wilkes-Barre Miners with 10:41 left in the second period. Nicholas Siracuse provided the assist.

Wilkes-Barre Miners was not heavily penalized during the game, and finished with six minors and one major totalling 17 minutes. Wilkes-Barre Miners ended up below its season average of 22.0 penalty minutes per game. Wilkes-Barre Miners stifled Lockport Express' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Lockport Express totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-6 on the power play.
