Huge game by Valvo boosts Jersey Shore Wildcats over Wilkes-Barre Miners, 7-3

Jersey Shore Wildcats' Travis Valvo had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 7-3 win over Wilkes-Barre Miners.

Valvo got on the board by slotting home a goal 2:25 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Dylan Jenkins picked up the assist. Valvo dished an assist on Tim OConnor's goal that made the score 2-1 Jersey Shore Wildcats at 9:11 into the second period. He added another helper on Ilya Spektor's goal that made the score 7-3 Jersey Shore Wildcats at 12:31 into the third period.

Jersey Shore Wildcats excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Jersey Shore Wildcats forced Wilkes-Barre Miners goalie Lucas Paulsen to work between the pipes, taking 56 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Jersey Shore Wildcats could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Jersey Shore Wildcats also got points from Spektor, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Alexandre Racicot, who also had one goal and one assist, and Justin Apgar, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Jersey Shore Wildcats included Konstatin Mamedov and Austin Crane, who scored one goal each. More assists for Jersey Shore Wildcats came via Alexander Tan, who had two and Antoine Gagne and Jiri Hajda, who contributed one each.

Wilkes-Barre Miners was often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and one major for 59 minutes in penalty time. Wilkes-Barre Miners had been averaging 21.0 minutes in penalties per game. Jersey Shore Wildcats was unable to stop Wilkes-Barre Miners from sending pucks towards the net, and Wilkes-Barre Miners eventually piled up 43 shots on goal.

Wilkes-Barre Miners was helped by Derek Bureau, who tallied one goal. Bureau scored 10:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wilkes-Barre Miners. Daniel Leisser provided the assist. Wilkes-Barre Miners also had goals scored by Brett Welsh and Austin Bandura, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Wilkes-Barre Miners were Arturs Bush, Alexandr Lobachev, and Zoltan Eross, who each chipped in one.

Marc Schlaeger made 40 saves for Jersey Shore Wildcats on 43 shots. Jersey Shore Wildcats registered three goals on six power play opportunities. Paulsen recorded 49 saves for Wilkes-Barre Miners.
