Gruber's big game bests Roc City Royals in 6-2 Jersey Shore Wildcats win

Jersey Shore Wildcats' Kevin Gruber had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 6-2 win over Roc City Royals.

Gruber scored 9:03 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Jersey Shore Wildcats. Alexandre Racicot picked up the assist. Gruber dished an assist on Arthur Raevsky's goal that made the score 2-2 at 7:39 into the second period. He added another helper on Racicot's goal that made the score 4-2 Jersey Shore Wildcats at 10:13 into the second period.

Jersey Shore Wildcats' penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled six minors and one major for 37 minutes in penalty time. Jersey Shore Wildcats had been averaging 18.0 minutes in penalties per game. Jersey Shore Wildcats put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Roc City Royals to score on any of its four power plays. Jersey Shore Wildcats kept Roc City Royals' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brennon Wachter made 53 saves on 59 shots. The defensemen of Jersey Shore Wildcats were also effective in Roc City Royals' zone, and came away with two goals.

Jersey Shore Wildcats additionally got points from Racicot, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Raevsky, who also grabbed two goals and one assist. Jersey Shore Wildcats also had goals scored by Daniel Vosyka and Dylan Jenkins, who each put in one. More assists for Jersey Shore Wildcats came via Martin Zahora, who had two and Antoine Gagne, Konstatin Mamedov, Austin Crane, and Frederic Ampleman, who contributed one each.

Roc City Royals' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Jersey Shore Wildcats power plays.

Roc City Royals was helped by Connor Guay, who had one goal. Guay scored 1:45 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Roc City Royals. Benjamin Myles provided the assist. John Wise also scored for Roc City Royals. Other players who recorded assists for Roc City Royals were Wesley Austin and James Lockamyeir, who each chipped in one.

Loftin Devoult recorded 20 saves for Jersey Shore Wildcats. Jersey Shore Wildcats ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ilya Spektor was ejected from the game. Roc City Royals ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. For Roc City Royals, Dominic Gruttadauria was ejected from the game.
