A hat trick by Bethany Saunders was the highlight in Rams' 9-4 win against the Naval Academy Midshipmen.

Saunders' first goal came 10:27 into the first period. He then added goals at 18:40 into the first and at 1:40 into the third.

The Rhode Island University of Rams led 5-1 after the opening frame the first period and maintained a healthy margin after.

Rhode Island University of excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Rams kept Naval Academy's goalie busy throughout the game, and Sarah Hutchinson made 33 saves on 42 shots. Rhode Island University of surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Rams average 4.5 goals per contest.

Rhode Island University of also got points from Kristen Levesque, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Janessa Courtney, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Cassie Catlow, who also racked up one goal and two assists.
