Cole's hat trick boosts Traverse City Hounds over Alpena Flyers, 5-2Centre Ice Fri, Dec 19, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Kevin Cole lifted Traverse City Hounds to a 5-2 victory with a hat trick against Alpena Flyers. Cole got on the scoresheet 6:55 into the second period. He then added goals at 12:37 into the second and at 11:22 into the third.Traverse City Hounds excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Traverse City Hounds kept Alpena Flyers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Hunter Myers made 33 saves on 38 shots. Austin Flores also scored for Traverse City Hounds. Other players who recorded assists for Traverse City Hounds were Stan Swiderek and Patrick Rogowski, who contributed one each and Travis Kirk and Cam Fisher, who each chipped in two. Alpena Flyers was led by Tait Froggett, who registered one goal and one assist. Froggett scored 17:46 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Brandon Bihn picked up the assist. Alpena Flyers also got a goal from James Stacey as well. In addition, Alpena Flyers received assists from Sam Charboneau, who had one. Traverse City Hounds' Justin Abdelhak stopped 13 shots out of the 15 that he faced. Traverse City Hounds totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-1 on the power play. Alpena Flyers ended with seven minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major.
