Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Alpena Flyers defeated Soo Firehawks in a shootout 2-1 (2-1 SO). The two teams needed 14 turns to complete the shootout. Soo Firehawks' shootout goal was scored by Zach Eitrem. Alpena Flyers' other shootout goal was scored by James Stacey.Soo Firehawks was stymied by Alpena Flyers' netminder Brett LeTourneau, who stopped 36 shots during the victory.
