Behind a great game by Trevor Pode, who had two goals, Motor City Monarchs defeated Michigan Ice Dogs, 4-1. Pode scored at 4:11 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Motor City Monarchs and again while on the power play 12:47 into the third to make the score 3-1 Motor City Monarchs.Motor City Monarchs was led by goalie Stephan Demmers, who finished with 26 saves while allowing one goal. Demmers managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.32 prior to the game. Motor City Monarchs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Michigan Ice Dogs to score on any of its four power plays. Michigan Ice Dogs was unable to stop Motor City Monarchs from sending pucks towards the net, and Motor City Monarchs eventually piled up 43 shots on goal. Motor City Monarchs also had goals scored by Julian Willibey and Tory Shand, who scored one goal each. In addition, Motor City Monarchs received assists from Trevor Hillman and Anthony Wojciechowski, who each chipped in one and Bryce Peplinski, Alec Domin, and Derrick Treppa, who contributed two each. Michigan Ice Dogs could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 20 minutes in penalties during the game. Michigan Ice Dogs was led by Kyle Cuthrell, who scored the team's only goal. Cuthrell scored 4:37 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Spencer Godin assisted on the tally. Motor City Monarchs incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors. Jacob Mulka made 39 saves for Michigan Ice Dogs on 43 shots.
