Luka Znidarsic netted a hat trick to lead Decatur Blaze over Soo Firehawks, 7-1. Znidarsic's first goal came 17:00 into the first period. He then added goals at 14 seconds into the second and at 12:43 into the second.Decatur Blaze's Matthew Hatcher was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 35 saves and let only one puck past him. Hatcher managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.99 prior to the game. Decatur Blaze racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 17.0 minutes per game Decatur Blaze had been spending in the box. Decatur Blaze stifled Soo Firehawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.
