Znidarsic's big game bests Michigan Ice Dogs in 4-1 Decatur Blaze win

Luka Znidarsic was all over the ice for Decatur Blaze, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Decatur Blaze's 4-1 win over Michigan Ice Dogs.

Znidarsic's tallies came at 1:29 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Decatur Blaze and 55 seconds into the third to make the score 4-1 Decatur Blaze.

Decatur Blaze was led by goalie Matthew Hatcher, who finished with 31 saves while allowing one goal. Hatcher certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.08 entering the contest.

Decatur Blaze excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Decatur Blaze forced Michigan Ice Dogs goalie Jacob Mulka to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Decatur Blaze also got points from Brandon Adler, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Decatur Blaze also got a goal from Curtis Schlereth as well. In addition, Decatur Blaze received assists from John Urmetz, who had two and Dylan Farmer, Duncan Irvine, Ty Gehrken, and Micah Young, who contributed one each.

Michigan Ice Dogs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Decatur Blaze power plays. Michigan Ice Dogs' offense rang up 32 shots on Decatur Blaze's net.

Michigan Ice Dogs was led by Joseph Russo, who scored the team's only goal. Russo scored 10:18 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Hunter Nielson picked up the assist.

Decatur Blaze incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Michigan Ice Dogs' Mulka stopped 36 shots out of the 40 that he faced. Michigan Ice Dogs incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
