Flores leads Traverse City Hounds over Detroit Fighting Irish, 7-3

Traverse City Hounds' Austin Flores had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing three assists in his team's 7-3 win over Detroit Fighting Irish.

Flores found the back of the net 1:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Traverse City Hounds and again while 14:04 into the first to make the score 3-1 Traverse City Hounds.

Traverse City Hounds forced Detroit Fighting Irish's goalies to work between the pipes, racking up 35 shots and forcing 28 saves. Kory Dombrowski made 11 stops and Jacob Gorzelski made 17.

Traverse City Hounds additionally got points from Scott Luca, who also had one goal and one assist, Greg Meuser, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Cam Givens, who also registered one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Traverse City Hounds included Cam Fisher and Howard Rose, who scored one goal each. In addition, Traverse City Hounds received assists from Kevin Hansen, who had two and Stan Swiderek and Grant McCormack, who each chipped in one.

Detroit Fighting Irish's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Detroit Fighting Irish was helped by Steven Sewell, who racked up one goal. Sewell scored 12:19 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Traverse City Hounds. Tristan Cruz assisted on the tally. Detroit Fighting Irish also had goals scored by Shawn Mott and Jacob Hayes, who each put in one. More assists for Detroit Fighting Irish came via Christian Ramage, who had two and Michael Perry, Robert Danyo, and Zachary Cruz, who contributed one each.

David Krejcik made 17 saves for Traverse City Hounds on 20 shots. Traverse City Hounds totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. Detroit Fighting Irish incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
